Verify Eligibility
The first step is to verify your eligibility for a VA loan by obtaining your Certificate of Eligibility (COE). The COE is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, and our VA Loan experts can help you determine your eligibility for a VA home loan by acquiring your COE on your behalf, completely free of charge, as a service to veterans. In many cases, they are able to get your COE in a matter of seconds with just your name and social security number. In some instances, they might need more information, such as your DD214 form, in order to process your COE.
The DIY Approach: You can pull your COE on your own at the VA eBenefits page. A word of caution though, COE’s can be difficult to understand and can sometimes have errors. Errors will need to be identified and fixed right away to avoid killing your home deal. This is one of the reasons why it’s important for you find a loan officer that specializes in VA loans.
The White-Glove Approach: Jump on over to Joe’s Free PCS Concierge Service where we link you with one of our vetted & trusted Honorary Joes (a true VA loan pro). They’ll reach out to you directly & take it from there. Joe doesn’t receive any financial benefits or referral fees from our trusted lenders. All lenders referred by Joe are actual lenders that Joe uses on a regular basis, and unlike so many others, Joe’s trusted lenders don’t keep banker hours–they answer the phones 7 days/week & after-hours.
Note: This is the only verifiable proof that a Veteran is eligible for the VA Home Loan Benefit that is recognized by the Department of Veteran Affairs, and is the first step for every lender.
